  • Girl with fedora 01

  • This will be my first image upload in a while on this site. I have had big problems with the site that apparently did not end when I did a complete new install except most important parts of the database and the images. I still could not show new images in the Blog. Apparently my gallery/image plug-in could not handle the size of image files that I’m working on even through it’s suppose to resize them after upload. No matter, I have had problems viewing and handling my large images on my tablet so I was thinking about making resized copies of all my Art on the computer. I looked for something that could handle resize images in bulk, or maybe I should say batch. I found IrfanView and it seams to work good and fast. So now I will have a lot smaller copies of my Art ready to upload with just a small bit of extra work.

    And now to the Art:

The thought of this partly come from watching Agent Carter on Netflix. I think my girl with fedora is suppose to be a detective. It’s made in Manga Studio 5 and nearly finished, and yet finished for now.

  • Ms. Marvel – Heroic Pose
  • Posted on March 22, 2015
  • I found a old photo of a girl on the Internet with a pose I like. I decided Ms. Marvel (classic one) would be a good fit for the pose. Then I opened up DAZ Studio and tried to capture the pose, but the shoulder and hand positions got a bit different and the camera angle is a little bit different to (Ms. Marvel is a bit more towards the camera compared to the photo). Then I rendered it to a Image and used it as a reference for this drawing.

Manga Studio 5. First i sketched shapes and tried to come close to my render, then I started to add more and more details not caring about line work and positions that much. When I had most things done I made the sketch layer blue and added a vector layer on top and “sculpted” out the shapes for a good line work. Then flat colors and shading. I did not want to do a background, but neither white or black felt right so now she has nothing behind.

    ——

I don’t want to spend more energy and time on it right now, so I upload it as it is. I might add a background and change things, but I think it will be another version instead of just a improvement. I might update shading, light and very minor details on this one.

Fan-Art. Ms. Marvel is a Marvel Comics character.

Comments are welcome, also ideas of what a good background would be. Thanks for watching!

  • Spider-Man and Spider-Woman kissing

  • Now we are getting close to the final Art. I might add Spider-Woman’s other hand (somewhere), tweak hair, lines, shading and light. Things that will make this image look even better. I wonder if I might loose viewers not waiting for a more final version? But then again, this is as close to final I have ever come (even counting in finished ones) and I will strive to as close or closer when I create new Art.

Painted and Line Art versions made in Manga Studio 5 and I have been drawing them on my Intuos 4L tablet.

The Art is based on a older version on this Superhero kissing theme with the same characters. You can see it here below. I hope you like the newer ones best! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Tragic Marvel Love 01 โ€“ Cyclops and Phoenix – update 01
  • Posted on March 15, 2015
  • When I read X-Men it still feels weird to see Emma Frost with together with Scott Summers. I miss Jean Grey.

My idea was to make a powerful scene with Cyclops and Phoenix and the idea came from poses on a old drawing I found on my computer.

Tools: DAZ Studio, Manga Studio, Wacom Intuos 4L tablet.

Updated and now with Line Art version.

  • A Sorceress update 2 – Near finished
  • Posted on February 14, 2015
  • I have for a long time wanted to make a few fantasy character drawings I could be happy with. Now I have one down. I might make some changes to this Sorceress image, but I think it is time to move on to something other and see if some cool things I have managed with this one can be repeated and maybe improved on.

This is the Sorceress. Line Art in vecors, flat colors in a layer, a shading layer, 3 layers for skin, other layers for other textures, 2 correction layers and other stuff. Made in Manga Studio 5 with Wacom Intuos 4L tablet. If I would add more details later, I would probably get some textures for the staff.

Click on images for larger size.

Next up a close up so you can see more details and the skin textures. I have used 3 layers of Airbrush to get the effect.

At last we have the Line Art version.

    That’s it.

  • A Sorceress update
  • Posted on February 11, 2015
  • I’m working on shading and reworking the Line Art. When it comes to colors, light and shadow I still have a bit to learn about how the tools in Manga Studio works. Then actually get better at shading.

It will get better before it’s done.

  • It’s the Unofficial Star Wars Day today! I take the opportunity to post a picture I drew for a Paint Contest for the Science Fiction Bokhandeln (bookstore) in Sweden.

I won a signed copy of Star Wars book Apocalypse by Troy Denning which should be on it’s way home to me. It was fun to paint in a simple program in low resolution and to care more about getting the picture submitted on time than to improve it for ages, as I have a tendency to do otherwise with what I create.

When I did this painting I wanted to create a painting with a old game 2D feel to it.

  • Boy Room – Drawing in perspective over the painting
  • Posted on December 16, 2012
  • In this update I’m drawing over the painting in perspective so I can get it right. When that is done I can add things in to the room and make it all look better before I paint it over again.

I’m using a perspective grid I made that is converted into a stencil in ArtRage. A stencil is good because it can be placed partly outside the canvas area and it can be hidden when not in use. A stencil can also act as a ruler and you can spin it around, which gives even more possibilities.

At the beginning of this part I made sure that the lines in the perspective grid stencil was somewhat aligned with the lines of the painting before I painted it on to a new layer. It created a 1 point perspective in blue. Is important to get the right height on the perspective point which gives a horizontal line, so my thought was to see the room through a camera in the approximate height of a person’s eyes. The desk chair is not pointing directly at the desk, so I decided to put up a 2 point perspective outside the canvas surface and paint the lines of the grid in orange were the chair is on yet another layer. I had to change the perspective points a few times to get the lines of the stencil somewhat aligned with the chair before I found the final place of the grid.

This is part 2. For part 3 look here. Part 1, part 4.
